Three U S Helicopter Crewmen Freed by North Korea
North Korea released Capt. David H. Crawford Warrant Officer Malcolm V. Loepke and Spec. 4 Herman E. Hofstatter after the United States pledged not to commit a similar act again. The men were handed over at Panmunjom at 11 45 a m and carried to safety in a Russian jeep. Hofstatter and Crawford were said to be seriously injured in the Aug downing of their OH23 helicopter.
