Reserve training completes for Barneby at Fort MacArthur
Boulder City Army Reserve Lt Col Garland Barneby finished a two week annual field training at Fort MacArthur California as staff for an Army Reserve Command and General Staff College course run by the Presidio of San Francisco. He is a member of the 6312th Logistical Command based in Las Vegas and is a 1936 Banning High School and 1939 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate. The Barnebys reside at 418 Ash Street.

Boulderite Attends Confab on Western Interstate Education
Mrs. Thomas S. White of Boulder City attended the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education conference in Boulder Colorado from August 6 to 10. Nevada is among 14 states in WICHE, a cooperative effort to broaden access to specialized higher education and share program costs. Since joining the compact, Nevada student enrollment in medical schools has tripled and interest in WICHE programs has grown. Other Nevada attendees included President Charles J. Armstrong Professor John Morrison Dr. Fred Anderson from Renn and Dr. Hugh Follmer Dr Robert Taylor and Mr. Jack Staggs of Las Vegas.
