15 Story Holiday Inn Downtown Hotel Planned
Preliminary plans for a 15 story Holiday Inn in downtown Las Vegas were presented to the Las Vegas Department of Planning Development. The 400 room tower would ad join a gaming casino and sit amid a 409 vehicle parking area. The complex would be on the northwest side of Main Street where it meets Stewart Avenue with some parking beneath the Expressway. A drainage channel crossing the site may require a buried pipe to handle water toward the Las Vegas Wash. An aesthetic review by the Las Vegas Planning Commission will also be required.

The Warren County sheriff said the lion mauling death of ranger John McCann at Kings Island's Lion Country Safari is closed after tests showed human blood on the jeep seat and feces nearby. He allegedly left the jeep to relieve himself and was attacked as he tried to return.
