Arrowhead Trail Chosen for Coast to Intermountain Route

Directing Drilling for Artesian Water in Duck Valley
Ira MacFarland has been hired by Mutual Land Improvement Co to head well drilling near Duck Valley opposite Surprise Valley in northern Washoe County. The project partners with Cooperative Irrigation Investigations of the U S Department of Agriculture to develop artesian water on a large expanse of fertile land. MacFarland brings extensive experience and plans to depart around July 5th or 6th with Mrs. MacFarland managing ranch duties before joining him later in the season.

Arrest Report Delines Grand Larceny Charge
Got Of Easy Jay E Thomas was arrested on a complaint by Wm Taylor of Goodsprings for grand larceny after stealing $50 from a saloon cash register. Preliminary exam showed the amount was $49.90. Thomas pled guilty to petit larceny and received a suspended sentence after restitution and extenuating circumstances were noted.

Death of Harry Clark at Reno Asylum April 5
The editor of the Age reports Dr J J Sullivan superintendent of the Insane Asylum advised that Harry Clark died at the Asylum on April 5. Clark was a well liked figure with many friends in Las Vegas Goodsprings and other parts of Southern Nevada.

Alarms may arrive at the fire house anytime. Several listed phones and stations provide overnight alert access. The railroad hospital and Las Vegas Hospital also connect to medical residences.
