Miner suffers repeated toe injuries in mining accident
Willard Pierce, employed by Copper World Mining Company near Cima California, went to Las Vegas Hospital last Saturday for surgery after a motor truck ran over his toes and crushed them badly. It was the second such accident for Pierce, the same toes crushed previously.

Fresno’s F G Gegoux hailed the Arrowhead Trail as a fine boulevard on a Salt Lake City to Los Angeles run. He left July 4 from Salt Lake City, reached Beaver that night, averaging about 25 mph with 41 gallons of gas for roughly twenty one mpg. He praised the road between Los Angeles and Salt Lake as in good condition despite minor rough spots from heavy teaming.

Fire devastates Goldfield stables and property losses
A Tuesday night blaze at Kibbys Stables rear building in Goldfield caused an estimated 35 000 to 40 000 in losses with only about 1 000 insured. Four horses 75 chickens and 200 pigeons perished while one Wells Fargo horse escaped badly burned. The fire, called the town's hottest and most spectacular in years, was kept from spreading by still air.
