Highways To Be Open To Travel
Engineer states the new underpass taking Clark avenue between Las Vegas proper and Westside under the Union Pacific tracks will open for traffic July 24 with work continuing after that date. He hopes the Salt Lake highway section under reconstruction may open between Las Vegas city limits and the WAE airport by this week’s Saturday. The segment between the airport and Apex will take several months to complete.

Car Overturns En Route to Ely Injuring Three
Alice Thayer and Charles Doherty, children of Mrs. Cc. C. Boyer of Ely, were shaken and slightly injured when a Studebaker tire blew and rolled over on the Proche Ely highway north of Geyser's ranch last Friday. Bud Doherty was thrown clear, cut on the head and unconscious. Thayer sustained back injuries but escaped with minor damage. They were taken to Pioche and later to Las Vegas where Thayer recovered before returning to work.
