Campaign moves into its final stretch as five days remain to boost subscriptions and votes. Saturday night at 8 marks the end of the period, after which votes count less and early leads matter more for prize awards.
Miss Majorie Goodwin of Las Vegas and Vernon Mills of Logan will travel to Reno with Mrs. George A. Goodwin to attend the Nevada high schools presidents meeting. The group includes leaders from local and Moapa Valley high schools and plans to stay about one week.
Mrs. George A. Peterman of Barnett California suffered first and second degree burns to her hips and legs when a tub of boiling water spilled last Friday. She was taken to Hewetson Hospital Saturday morning for treatment.
Carlisle Scott, 18, fell from a cliff near Baxter, breaking his left leg and dislocating his right ankle. He was taken to Hewetson Hospital where doctors set the bones and he rests easily.
Work nears completion on a four room bungalow to be occupied by Mrs. Perle Brown. Arthur Denning of Redondo Beach handles carpentry while Vann and Dave of this city perform electrical work.

District Attorney Hession to seek warrants for twenty men linked to the No Name Siphon bombing of the Los Angeles Aqueduct last spring. The move follows the arrest of six men in the Cottonwood Power House blast and suggests about thirty two suspects total involved in the case.
Mrs. Chas. Lawry extends lead in the Age Campaign by a narrow margin of under 3000 votes as the race tightens toward Saturday night. Lawry works hard to maintain and possibly increase her frontrunner position amid the contest.
Tonopah reports the town will offer the southern Nevada desert its first golf course within about a week. Vegas players have already hosted tournaments since last September, with negotiations to lease land along Vegas Creek for a premier course.

Three Chinese men were killed and several wounded in a Tong war that erupted Sunday evening in Mexicali. No arrests had been made by tonight. Joe Keate has recovered from appendicitis in Hewetson Hospital and was released Thursday.

Willard F. McDonald eighty years old Civil War veteran died in the city Saturday at 11:40 due to general paralysis. He leaves a widow in San Mateo California a son Joe of Reno and three sisters in Maine. Funeral mass will be held tomorrow at nine at The Catholic church with burial in Las Vegas cemetery. Son arrived from Reno yesterday.
The Age offers a $10 cash prize to the Las Vegas high school district winner in the National Oratorical Contest on the Constitution. Las Vegas High School shares the district with Lincoln county high schools. Los Angeles Times provides additional prizes of $25 $15 and $10 per district. Raby J Newton, history teacher, promotes student participation.
Mrs Racie Goodwin, a lively Age Contest candidate, becomes the first woman to drive into Wahmonie gold camp driving a 1928 Buick Sedan. She toured the camp, gathered subscriptions, and heard prospectors discuss their finds, noting the camp may grow into a permanent town.
Three naval officers who left the carrier Lexington at Hampton Roads for Annapolis are reported missing. No trace has been found and they are believed lost.
Welby Hunt on trial with Hickman testified he feared his former pal who allegedly threatened to kill him unless he aided the hold up that killed C. Ivy Toms a Rose Hill druggist. Mrs. A H Johnson was discharged from Hewetson Hospital after an operation.
Mrs Dorabelle Bernstein sues Lillian Coogan accusing alienation of Arthur Bernstein's affections, seeks 750000 dollars. She also files for divorce from husband Arthur Bernstein alleging cruelty and maximum alimony of 1000 dollars weekly. The case involves Jackie Coogan's mother and prominent Hollywood figures.
Lieut. Col. Charles E. McCarthy and his family lost their home to a fire at Fort Benning Georgia while away from the house. They saved only the clothes on their backs. The Age joins friends in offering sympathy for these old family friends.
A distinguished service medal was sent to Colonel Charles A. Forbes during his two year term at Leavenworth prison. Forbes, former Director of the Veterans Bureau, earned the honor while in service at the penitentiary and his earlier work with the bureau led to his imprisonment.
The United States dirigible Los Angeles flew over Colon at 9 30 p m local time after departing Lakehurst New Jersey at 6 1 0 a m Sunday morning.
Boston report Ace Hudkins won on a foul from Al Mello in the fourth round here tonight.
Los Angeles Feb 27 George Godfrey holds eight to ten odds over Paulino the Spanish fighter. All tickets for tomorrow night are sold and record attendance is expected at Wrigley Field. Both boxers say they will win. Godfrey weighs 230 pounds and Paolino 195.
