Junior Chamber Sets Revenue Record At President's Ball

The Junior Chamber of Commerce reports a record $527.75 in total receipts from the President's Ball in Las Vegas. After $175.00 in expenses, net profit came to $352.75 for infantile paralysis research and treatment. Of proceeds, $105.88 (30 percent) went to Warm Springs Foundation and $246.82 (70 percent) remains in Las Vegas to aid sufferers.

Power Transmission Nears Nevada Line Before March First

Elwood Bachman of General Electric says power will flow to the Southern Nevada grid by March first via the Boulder Dam Las Vegas transmission line. Las Vegas receives power under a new rate schedule starting at one cent per kilowatt hour, up to four cents for small users, with bills potentially cut by about half.
