Thanksgiving Day Celebration in Las Vegas Society

A grand Thanksgiving event in Las Vegas featured a daylong program with games, races, and a large evening entertainment. Harpy Beale chaired the organizing committee with Win Stewart Henry Fer A B Johnson and T. Schwab assisting. Dan V. Noland presented remarks and prizes were awarded for afternoon events. The evening program included songs, readings, and a closing dance drawing the largest crowd seen at such an event, with prizes for waltz winners Mr Burns and Mrs Bure. May the Eagles scream often.

Government lands near Las Vegas eyed for settlers and mining support

A 10000 acre government land parcel near Las Vegas is opened under the Queen of Land and Home acts for non residents. Plans by the San Pedro Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad seek to attract settlers to survey tracts, with aims to develop water rights and ore interests. Lucky Dutchman Clark’s Road Drives Nevada Mining Boom

Las Vegas investors Webber and Preddy Schrott have cashed in on the Lucky Dutchman group, sold through Rovery and Childs & Co. Utah incorporation of Lucky Dutchman Mining promises active work on the vein crossing ledges, with seven men stripping a 50 foot wide ore lode. Sampling shows strong gold values per ton, a shaft to be sunk, and plans to rival Goldfield or Bullfrog. Schrott retains Crescent district prospecting, while Senator Thomas Kearns says a Las Vegas rail line will be built, linking to Goldfield via a new north–south route headed by Brock and associates. The project could connect with Goldfield and Bullfrog routes, with a proposed $5,000,000 link to Las Vegas.
