A congressional subcommittee on interior appropriations traveled by road and lake to Lake Mead. The party, led by Paul S. Webb, toured Grand Canyon reaches aboard the Hualipi cruiser and stayed overnight at the Pierce Ferry camp. Death of Nash shocks Las Vegas community
Nash prominent Las Vegas resident died Monday afternoon at a Las Vegas hospital after a long illness culminating in an operation. Funeral services were led by Bishop Bryan Bunker and Rev. C. H. Sloan, with Las Vegas Elks and Rotary Club members among pallbearers. Born January 30, 1874 in London England, he moved to the U S after Alaska gold rush years. Survived by wife Mary Cole and five children Eldridge Louis Betty Oliver and Jeen. He served as chief inspector in the state puré food and drug department and weights and measures.

At a Tuesday Chamber meeting in Deno the group endorsed Las Vegas taking part in the Reno celebration for the Lake and Sierra street bridge completions over the Truckee river. The event is set for September 11 and 12 with Reno inviting Las Vegas. city officials pledged support and funding for a proper Las Vegas presence. Murray Wollman chairs the arrangements committee with Bob Kaltenborn C. G. Robinson and Mayor Arnett.
