Two More Giant Generators Awarded for Boulder Dam
The Interior Department awarded Westinghouse a 1.467 million dollar contract on July 27 to manufacture two 82 500 kVA generators for Boulder Dam units A 6 and A 7 in the Arizona wing. The deal completes a package totaling 1.9846 million dollars including turbines governors transformers and switches. Delivery targets are 700 and 800 calendar days respectively. The Nevada side houses similar units serving Los Angeles and southern California with June 1937 revenues of 125000 and expected annual earnings over 1.5 million.

Walmer Atwell Wright was accidentally shot and killed by his friend Harry Stollsteimer during a planned deer hunt prep at Red Rock Canyon. The coroner's jury ruled Wright's death an accident from a rifle shot at the 300 yard line after Wright moved a target.
