Plane falls in Rio Grande two officers survive

Lieutenant Alfonso B. Johnson and Lieutenant R. Duff Wilson, stationed at a local aviation camp, crashed their plane in the Rio Grande about ten miles southeast of Laredo while flying at 250 feet. The engine cut, the craft sank, both men escaped on the plane, Wilson cramped, Johnson swam them to shore, saving both lives before returning to Laredo.
