Osage Allottees Expect 1920 Incomes Near 10000 Each
Officials at the government Indian Agency in Oklahoma City estimate that Osage allottees will receive about ten thousand dollars per member for 1920 based on regular December allotments. Bonus payments of 1000 are being issued as an extra dividend from past lease sales to oil companies and individuals who pay one fourth of lease price upfront with the balance due in three years at six percent interest. The total bonuses amount to 2225000. There are 2222 original shares in the Osage tribe and adopted members counted in the bonus rolls.
