The piece argues such pay undercuts skilled work, risks losing qualified staff, and urges substantial salary increases or abolition of the bureau. It contrasts janitor wages with technical pay and notes broader college wage undervaluing. It also contemplates Wagner operas on film as a separate fantasy.
