Second week of the new semester at Laredo High School begins as seven trailer sections for freshmen and sophomores are organized in English Spanish and Mathematics. Principal Wiane oversees class reorganization while plans for a January assembly are delayed. Visitors and parents are welcome at upcoming assemblies and classes.
London dispatch reports Britain weighing diverting troops from Shanghai defense to Hongkong after assessing Chinese reactions to a US backed pledge to keep Shanghai peaceful. A report claims Chu chow, Cantonese base in Chekiang, has fallen to Marshal Sun Yatsen forces, easing Shanghai fears.

The New York State Athletic Commission suspended Chiourkey, Phily Rosenberg of New York, Bushey Graham of Ut e, and their managers pending an investigation into the contract for the match at Madison Square Garden where Rosenberg defeated Graham last week. The bout-related actions threaten the Pantinwright championship by seizing its pounds for this Theut.

Charles C. Carter, a well known oil operator, spent days in Laredo on business and returned today to San Antonio. Visitors registered at Hamilton hotel included Mr and Mrs Secionover of Fort Worth and Mrs J G White of Washington DC. HW Shay of Austin and El C Cate from Dallas, with Mar Maddnax, are noted for oil development interests in the Laredo district.
John T. Diefenbacher of New Philadelphia dies at 78 after more than five decades as a volunteer firefighter. The obituary notes no grandson serving on the force with him.
King George opens the third session of Parliament in London with Queen Mary present. The speech emphasizes protection of British subjects in China and a push to improve treaties and relations, noting Germany joins the League of Nations and Allied controls end in Germany.
Special correspondents reported Sulay Moros killed in the attack as Tahir and the princess fled with a few followers leaving rebels to face the fire. The princess was later found exhausted wandering inside. her husband is sought on sedition charges. She is kept in semi confinement pending penitent behavior.
