Black man slashes throat of Punk Corbin in street quarrel
At about three this afternoon at First and Thornburg streets William Jones, a Black man, hacked Punk Corbin’s throat from ear to ear following an argument over money. Corbin, a cook for Diamond Cattle Company, collapsed. Jones was captured nearby and jailed. Doctors treated Corbin’s severed jugular, but his fate remains unclear. Police chased Jones, who surrendered without further incident.
