Elephant Kills Man After Pepper Prank at Ogden Show

Crowd Starts for 14 000 Mile Auto Tour from Chicago

On June 26 10day Dr J Pavis leads 75 Auto club members and a mobile repair corps on a 14000 mile trip to Mammoth Cave Kentucky. First day turnout reaches about 200 people and 50 cars. Cedar Lake hosts a reception before nightfall. Morning plans split with twenty cars heading south others return to Chicago. The run is set for fifteen days.

Six Human Skeletons Found At Topeka

Six human skeletons were found today in a hole washed out by the river west of North Topeka Kansas. The remains are not flood victims but show evidence of burial by someone and were unearthed by the flood. The hole is near the corner of the former Evans place, owned by J B Evans since 1878.

Riot on Wilmington Streets Ends in Shootings

A race riot erupted on Ninth Street in Wilmington Delaware causing heavy gunfire. About 200 black marchers clashed with 25 whites. police led by Captain Evans and Sergeant McDermott made arrests. Two officers were wounded and a black man named James Mercey was shot in the hand. A white man shot William Cramer, another black resident, in the abdomen.
