Friends of W G McAdoo in San Francisco announce plans to place his name before delegates at the convention amid cross‑faction talks. Samuel Amidon of Kansas leads McAdoo forces as Palmer and Cox factions spar over draft efforts and expected ballots.
A late afternoon hearing will determine the Georgia delegate contests. Open arguments precede a secret deliberation and final decision by the national committee. Senator Hardwick leads the anti administration side with H B Dean for Palmer administration delegates.
World heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey arrives on train No 22 in Laramie at 7 35 am and, after a brief interview with the Boomerang reporter, says he is ready to fight anyone now after being exonerated in the slacker case. He heads to Denver for an exhibition with Bill Tate and speaks enthusiastically in a modest tone about future battles.
June 24 Cheyenne reports hailstones six inches in diameter battering Hillsdale and surrounding farms. One third of town windows broken, auto tops torn, hoods dented, crops flattened. Storm began about 4 PM lasting around 20 minutes, with stones found up to eighteen inches in circumference. Travel and transit disrupted as locals seek damage assessments.

Chicago June 36 The national railway strike threatened anew as local switchmen and yardmen in Elkhart and nearby areas walk out in a staged vacation. They refuse to return until a wage decision by the labor board is issued, despite news that a wage ruling would be made by July 20.
Despite boastful claims from other cities, Laramie showcases a University student who works and trains as a private fighter while keeping up with classes. He reportedly fought Doherty in a July fourth weekend incident near Third and Thorsburg streets, claiming a simple goal of schooling and proving himself.
