In Parsons Kansas W M Reed shot and killed a farmer identified as W A Tran and wounded his son Frank Tranbarger after a confrontation near their home. The incident followed an earlier dispute with Louis Tranbarger and the Tranbarger family. Reed was arrested.

In Atohison Kansas on June 26 Charles Rathin, son of C. M. Ratheurn, chief of the Missouri Pacific Railroad based at Atohison, fell from a boat into the Missouri River yesterday and was drowned. The body had not yet been recovered.
