Paris June 23 Germany's note accepting the peace treaty was filed to the allies at 5 25 pm just under two hours before the time limit. The German government declares readiness to sign with reservations, opposing sole guilt and calling peace a result of force. Weimar assembly votes to accept. Bauer’s ministry stays in power. The Allies refuse a 48 hour extension and expect signing before Thursday. Full powers granted for signing and blockades to be raised.

Bomb Suspects Fined in Anarchist Bulletin Case

Samiel Hitler and Lydia Vineoois were fined ten dollars each for violating al jeity ordinance after being arrested for distributing the Anarchist Soviet Bulletin. The justice department declined to prosecute, and two hours later bomb squad officials reclaimed radical literature seized earlier.

Whiskey supply tied up in St. Louis rail shipment ban

About 800,000 gallons of whiskey will be tied up in St. Louis on July 1 after railroads announced they would stop transporting alcoholic beverages. One distiller said he expects 100,000 gallons of undelivered whiskey on the first of next month.

Eight Hour Air Mail Service Planned Chicago to New York

The Air Mail service will establish an eight hour daily westbound mail between the Atlantic and the Great Lakes starting June 20. An airplane will depart New York at 5:00 a.m. and reach Chicago by 1:00 p.m., faster than the existing nineteen hour railroad mail. Earthbound mail will leave Grant Park Field at 2:30 p.m. to Cleveland for the Twentieth Century train connection to New York City at 9:40 a.m.

Gas Proclaimed Most Humane Of War Elements

Major Gen. William L. Sibert told the Senate Military Committee that gas caused 30 percent of American France casualties but only 4 percent of those injured died. He said recovered patients suffered no lasting ill effects and called gas the most humane element in war.

Minnesota disaster reports say about fifty killed and hundreds injured after a storm hit Fergus Falls and surrounds. Adjutant General Rhinow arrived by relief train. trains carry surgeons and nurses to aid survivors.
