Shooting in Albany bank building ends in gunfire

Rancher William Greaser shot and killed in an Albany bank office after a heated talk with his wife Katie Greaser and attorney about divorce and child custody. The couple planned further meetings with Corthell to settle arrangements, but the confrontation escalated to a deadly discharge. Private Goldcamp and Private Lane Medal of Honor Citations

Two soldiers earned the Medal of Honor for acts behind enemy lines. Private Goldcamp died attempting a rescue of Sergeant Swingle on March 29 after being shot by machine gun fire.
