Institute Hears Teachers’ Thoughts and Resolutions

Albany County Teachers Institute session opened with sermons and talks on character building in education. Funeral for Charles Pierce in Cathedral service

The funeral for Charles Pierce, who died at Gaskells hospital last Tuesday, was held yesterday afternoon at the Cathedral. Rev Dean Cape read the service as Torrey's Rough Riders guards, with pallbearers Goo Kling Morgan Knadler Av ens Matheson Ross Manson Henry Mayan Scott Vass, escorted the procession. The dean offered a poignant tribute to a life far from home, and the burial concluded with taps by bugler John Frick.

Laramie Train Conductor Ill. Convict Reward Set at $50

Passenger engineer Thomas Kelley of Laramie fell sick on Monday and could not take his run on train No 4. Otto Gramm of the Wyoming penitentiary offers a $50 reward for the capture of James Brown, the convict who escaped from the aux Mary prison at Laramie on May 20. The Fort Bridger reservoir near Bridger station on the Union Pacific nears completion and will irrigate about 20 000 acres along the line, much of which is yet to be homesteaded.

Accident at Johnson house injures Al Bath and horse

A wreck on a steep hill left Al Bath of the Little Laramie and his horse badly shaken after the calf jerking the horse caused a fall. Both rider and animal rolled repeatedly down the slope in the incident at the Johnson residence.
