Annual Albany County Teachers Institute Opens

The twentieth annual institute for Albany county teachers met at the cart side school building with about fifty attendees. Mrs. Emma Howell Knight presided, Emma Nagel served as secretary, and Rev. Frank L. Moore spoke on education’s value. A banquet at the Presbyterian church and talks on monetary systems and geography followed, with many teachers listed as present.

Fourth of July Celebration Planned at Centennial Mountain Site

A large Pleasant Day crowd gathered at Laramie and Hahn's Peak to tour Centennial for July Fourth preparations. The Paglen lodge and local citizens committees organize a picnic, dining, and a dancing pavilion with railroad excursions expected to ease access and ensure a lively celebration.

A Week at the Teen Club House Adventure

A group visited a local teen club house on a knoll west of Centennial and enjoyed a panoramic view from the summit. On the return, they explored new routes, faced mud and water, with most crossing the terrain on foot. Claude Bellon of Centennial Lumber Co. leads a large crew at work on the hotel and club renovation, while plans for the dancing day proceed.

Find Corpse of an Unknown Man on the Laramie River

The sheriff and coroner were notified Saturday morning of a body found on the Laramie River about 75 miles northwest of Fort Collins. The man’s identity is not known and may not be determined until officials arrive. Covener Hollowell and Deputy Sheriff Lowery began the long drive within an hour of the notice. The passage about ice cream is unrelated filler.

Governors Commission Named To Probe University

Governor Bryant Brooks announces a five member investigative panel to review university management. The committee includes three Republicans and two Democrats: J B Cosgriff Rawlins Carben, H F Maurer Douglas, R H Walsh Sheridan, L Phelps Big Horn, M T Johnson Wheatland. The memo urges impartial, nonpartisan work with firm recommendations.

Commencement Week Activities At University

Graduation exercises begin tonight with the School of Music recital in the auditorium at eight. John Hunton, sole graduate in his department, will perform with the girls glee and mandolin clubs. A reception by Mrs. Clark follows. The week includes Society Night on Tuesday, Alumni business meeting, and close Day exercises Wednesday. Thursday features commencement ceremonies with address by A G True and degree conferrals. All events at the university. Railroad Work Begun at Centennial Terminal Construction

The L B H P P and P crews started building all Centennial terminals to enable engine turns at the point. A turntable plan was abandoned in favor of a more suitable system. J B McCandless, longtime Union Pacific conductor, has resigned and now leads the Saratoga and Encampment road construction train. Grover Braden, who suffered a severe burn at the rolling mill, will visit Chicago Milwaukee and Philadelphia for a month and attend the Bik's convention in Philadelphia before returning by July 20.

Irvin Bound Over to Higher Court

Pallas Irving of Casper faces charges alleging theft of a horse and other property from Two Bar ranch. He was bound over by Judge Hynda to the district court in Casper for trial, with hearings set after the current term of court ends.

Runaway Boys Sent Back Home From Evanston

Ronald Isk and Eivin McColhun, both fourteen, were sent home by officers after a roundup Saturday at Bowl Harbor and brought to Evanston. Parents reported relief at learning their sons were safe and on the way home, while the boys told their tale of woe before departure.

Creamery leaders praise Park dairy boom and leadership
