Ehergises Event Held at School Building Last Night

A local event titled Ehergises occurred at the school building last night. Attendees gathered for a community program with brief remarks and performances.

Interesting High School Pupils Stage Careful Prep Evening

Pupils at the east side high school presented a well received show at 8 o clock with a program including Welcome, instrumental pieces by Annie Reid and Clara Prabh, recitations from The Burning Prairie and Charlotte Corday, readings from Lady of the Lake, original story by Ida McClary, and tableaux from Tennyson. Strong performances and good humor marked the evening with bright reception from the audience.

Locomotive Explodes On Freight Train Near Clarks Neb

A Walon Pacific freight locomotive exploded near Clarks Nebraska. Engineer Charles Fulmer of Council M6s and Firemen David Jenkins of Omaha were killed. Brakeman William Fenning of Omaha was severely injured and later died. The train ran at high speed and wrecked.

McSwain Found Guilty of Second Degree Murder

In Rawlins Wyoming on June 14 a jury convicted Orlo McSwain of murder in the second degree for killing James Taylor in Boggs Wyoming January 2 in a saloon dispute over a girl at a dance. Penalty ranges from twenty years to life. a new trial will be sought.

State v Lewis finds Lewis guilty and fines set

The state in the case against Chas. Lewis was found guilty by Judge Hayford and fined 25 dollars plus about 29 dollars costs. Lewis has appealed the judgment.
