Lincoln June 6 Col W J Bryan may campaign for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination with a socialist policy plank set by his brother Charlie. The platform includes prohibition support price and wage boards, state lease terms for water power, state life and bail insurance, and protections for producers. Patterson to Rawlins Tidball and Patterson to travel for a water case injunction hearing and return to Laramie.
Secretary Baker describes American divisions as they form in France. New divisions are brigaded with British French or American troops, train together, and spend time in reserve before joining veteran units. After baptism of fire they return to reserve, then rest, and later become permanent separate divisional units.
American machine gunners backed by French infantry control the Marne bank between Chateau-Thierry and Jaulgonne seven miles from the front as the fight may resume any moment.
