Public notice to creditors and interested parties that the administratrix has filed a final account and petition for distribution for John N. Stinger and Michael J. Coughlin estates in Albany County Wyoming. Objections due within thirty days after last publication, by July 28, 1918. Dated Laramie May 1918.
The roads leading into the city are in excellent shape according to autoists surveyed yesterday. The Fort Collins road and the highways to the west and the Stylee country are also reported to be in good condition.
A Wyoming Shale Oil Refining company meeting was held Saturday night at the Laramie Exchange and Brokerage offices. The discussions focused on stock sale plans and the construction of a refinery.
A total solar eclipse will be visible in Laramie this Saturday afternoon. The sun will be completely obscured for about one minute during the event.
Bricklayers started work this morning to lay brick for the wall of the Albany National Bank building. The plan aims to raise the front wall this week and begin the side wall next week. The front and sides will be finished in red brick.
The Connor hotel announces its dining room will open at 6 a.m. to serve guests catching early trains, following a recent change in train schedules.
W. E. Beck chef at the Connor hotel and Wyoming cafe manager arrived home this morning after a week in Denver receiving throat specialist treatment. He says he feels much better.
F M Zimmers president of La armie Plains Shale Refining and Oil Co and I E Dennis sales manager visited holdings to measure validating holes drilled a couple of weeks ago to confirm results and assess prospects.
J. L. Ambler, a Republican sheriff candidate, arrived from Medicine Row to meet friends in the city yesterday. He plans to return to Laramie tomorrow or the day after as part of his campaign swing.
Bishop McGovern of Cheyenne will preach the baccalaureate sermon to University of Wyoming seniors on Sunday June 9. An attempt to obtain Bishop Johnson of Denver for the occasion was unsuccessful.
Nels Bendt proprietor of the Home Bakery and Miss Clara Prahl a university teacher plan a Pittsboro wedding next week. The couple will return to La ramie where Mr. Bendt will reopen his bakery on June 18 after the government revokes and restores his license.
Rain disrupted Saturday schedule at Hahns Peak with the train leaving for Calmont destination this morning. A large shipment of shoes arrived Saturday and was shipped east via Union Pacific railroad yesterday.
The city council will meet tomorrow evening in the city hall council chamber. Monthly bills will be read and approved and contracts awarded for sewer work on Bradley Street and for extending the water works.
The finance committee of the city council meets this evening at the city clerk’s office in city hall to review monthly bills and audit the books.
A regular meeting of Are Marons is set for tonight. The gathering includes Lie Karine Twden and members AB and As Mi to discuss local matters and plan upcoming activities.
The regular monthly meeting of the county commissioners will be held in the county clerk's office in the courthouse tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Ira Bean and M. F. B. Rhinesmith are expected to arrive in the city this evening. Road work will occupy most of the session.
Two special cars carried fifty nine enlisted men from Laramie on No. 6 Saturday night. Thirty five city youths were sent to Camp Lee Virginia while the rest proceeded to Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana to join the railway division of the United States army.
Youths of Albany County will register on Wednesday for military service. Three registration sites are Rock River, Tie Siding, and the courthouse coffee shop. Citizens are urged to assist in the registration effort.
A joint meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union 18 is in session at the Carnegie Library this afternoon. Plans for the upcoming campaign to secure a dry state at the next election are discussed.
Mrs. Beck and her Cody based son visit with Betty Beck who attends the University of Wyoming. They will remain for the graduation exercises to be held this week.
The board of education will hold its annual meeting Wednesday evening in the high school. Two newly elected members will be sworn in and appointments for the coming year will be made. Other actions include committee appointments and closures.
Thomas Kiegley formerly assistant bookkeeper at W E Holliday resigns and joins the Three Rules store. He fills the vacancy created by B C Schilleer who departs on June 15.
Four cars of plaster and sixteen cars of ties were loaded and shipped from Laramie yesterday on the Union Pacific. The receipts included one car of terra cotta three ties three coat and two cartons of enamel. Twenty cars of cattle were fed to transit in the local stockyards this morning.
Local notices announce Hugo Bros Dow and Pony shows traveling to Laramie with a performance scheduled for June 10. The troupe will depart the following day for Medicine Row, with details arriving via the railroad Traion Racine.
