Kinley dies as Munroe faces murder charge in lynching scare

Kinley died from a gunshot wound inflicted by Harry Munroe on April 14 after a dispute over wages. Kinley, a prominent Albany County ranchman, died at Lawrence hospital as Undersheriff Jimil Thirkeldsen moved Munroe from jail to Tie Siding fearing vigilante action. Post mortem traced the bullet to a lung and spinal damage. authorities expect a murder verdict. Munroe, a cripple with a wooden leg, had been employed at Kinley ranch and fled further mob violence.

Shooting at Bridge Hotel Ends in Wounding of Man

At about 9 p m Saturday Elmer Sutt shot W J Clark on the second floor of the Bridge hotel after an argument over a divorce. Clark was seriously wounded in the back as a 38 caliber bullet pierced his breast area, but officials report the injury not fatal.
