Evanston reports Annie Bruce, a young Mormon girl, was sentenced by Judge D A Craig to four years in the Wyoming State Penitentiary at Rawlins for the murder of her father James Bruce near Smoot last summer. The judge denied a new trial. she may earn early release after serving time for good behavior.

Mills to Open May 1 for Union Pacific Mills

Union Pacific rolling mills will reopen on or about May 1 as repairs and overhauls continue. The big brick furnaces are to be inspected and repaired after a period of needed work. Manager Jacobus aims to restore the plant to first class condition and break performance records with improved equipment and efficiency.

Large grain elevator to be built by Overland Cereals in Wyoming

In the next three to four days Augspurger for the Overland Cereals Co will sign a contract to construct the largest wall elevator in Wyoming. The facility with a 000 bushel capacity will operate with floating mills opening around July first and lie west of Mourlog mills in the city’s north end. Union Pacific plans spurs to aid shipping. Over the past months the Augspurgers have shipped nearly three tons of wheat under a delivery pact with ranchers. Grains will be stored as delivered.
