Influenza Epidemic Claims Local Victims in Springwater
In Springwater the influenza outbreak has caused several deaths. Annie McMillan, 19, wife of Wilfrid McMillan, died Friday after influenza and pneumonia. Mrs. Oscar Chambers and other young women also died. A Kenevhtel family near Kelfield has suffered six deaths in a ten member household. Fuller details are to be sent to the Record office.

Toronto influenza death rate and Landis comparison
Toronto's death rate from influenza stood at 327 per 100 000 with Landis village reporting a rate six times higher. The Canadian registrar for military service under the Military Service Act had nearly completed duties and orders for all but the 19 year old class were cancelled indefinitely. These men remain liable for registration though not required to report for service.
