Mrs L Davidson wife of the North American Lumber Co manager at Biggar is very ill with pneumonia and not expected to recover. An impromptu dance was held at the restaurant on Wednesday January 30 to mark the occasion.
Courty hard times dance aids Red Cross
Nat Keller was called up for the American army and received a purse of money after a pleasant evening. A Friday hard times dance raised 34 dollars for the Red Cross in a mock court led by Mrs Freedan as judge, with Mrs Johnson clerk and Mrs Marshall and Mrs Robinson as police. Those in improper attire were fined. Newton Freed paid fifty cents for wearing the upper half of a shirt with a silk patch. Music was by Rose, Marshall, and Blanchard.
