Notice is given under Rule 23 of the Surrogate Court that all claimants against the estate of Gerhard Gilles who died about October 25 1917 must send their claims and accounts by March 14 1918 to Christina Gilles administratrix at Cavell Saskatchewan or to Nay Irvine Scott Saskatchewan. After that date the administratrix will distribute assets to those entitled and will not be liable to claimants whose notices were not received. Dated February 1918 at Scott. Cultural events include Welsh and Irish nights by the Literary Society with speeches by Williams and Thomas, plus a children’s meeting lunch and performances. Landis School lists January merit roll by grade with daily attendees marked by asterisk or dagger. Attendance figures show percentage 923.09 and average 28.86, with principal names R. M. McEacunn Teagher and teachers noted.
Farmers may place orders at the Record office for cordwood to be laid down at Landis. Wood prices range from 625 to 6 3/4 dollars per cord. Avocust Henne Jr notes better wood than last year and offers half a car or a full car quantities.
Under The Stray Animals Act Section 8 the Rosemount district names Poundkeepers for 1918. Divisions list G H Hayes J Braithwaite N McLeod W Wood A W Kimary with sections and wards, signed by Ames Braithwaite Secretary Treasurer.
By law number 40 under Seed Grain Act the Rural Municipality of Rosemount No 378 authorizes spring 1918 seed grain advances on credit to resident farmers unable to obtain seed. The municipality may borrow up to 5000 dollars to finance the supply and will secure repayment with promissory notes, seed grain liens on crops, and caveats against affected lands.
