Feb. 24 report quotes J. R. Wilson of Berkeley urging nations to resolve global economic conflicts to avoid a new world war. Cheyenne news reports nine people in custody related to the killing of Walter H. Christensen. Authorities withheld most identities, noting five are believed bootleggers, with Christensen found shot to death two miles north of Cheyenne after traveling among three locations.

Washington February 24 Associated Press says a revised reservation to the four power Pacific treaty was debated by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The resolution states the U S understands there can be no commitment to armed cover no alliance and no obligation to join any defense under the treaty’s preamble or terms.
Washington reports on the U S consular service detailing 457 American consuls operating in over 400 cities across 50 counties. The first American Consular Bulletin outlines functions from protecting and enforcing laws to promoting American interests abroad, showing the service's wide reach and annual cost about 4 450 000 with a 1921 treasury return of 98 500 000 and a net government profit over 4 000 000.

Associated Press reports film actress Mabel Normand remained critically ill, still unchanged from last night. She is at her Altadena residence near Pasadena, moved there after William Desmond Taylor's funeral, with hopes of recovery despite the serious condition.
Samuel Smith, a Black man, died today at the county jail in a related incident involving Mire Martin Lyon of Glenridge New Jersey a Gonchor College student. Lyon confronted by the driver who offered to take her from Stonewood training school to Baltimore. Showan struck several times and left supposedly for deceased. Smith identified by her and found guilty by a jury.
Associated Press report from Stamford, Connecticut, notes veteran engineer Robert Brewster Stanton died of pneumonia at 76. Stanton served as division engineer of the Union Pacific and built the Georgetown Loop in 1882, and led the party survey through the Grand Canyon of Colorado in 1889.
Casper February 24 delegates from across Wyoming arrive for the first state convention of the American Legion Auxiliary. National president Mia Lowell P Hobart of Cincinnati joins the three day caucus aimed at forming a permanent state organization, drafting a constitution, and planning future work. Nearly 50 out-of-town delegates are expected to register at the Henning hotel, the meeting HQ.
A lonely bridge dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Binhoff stood out among George Washington celebrations. The party attracted about twenty guests, with Washington-themed favors and a lavish table as guests played bridge for prizes awarded to Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart and others.

New York February 24 Galto Tine twenty two years old the only Japanese ever convicted of murder in New York City was sentenced to die in the electric chair at Sing Sing during the week of April 3. The crime involved a countryman and a violent act with a weapon.
Police in Detroit say they have no evidence connecting Wong Lee to the murder of William Desmond Taylor. The Chinaman named by suspect Harry Fields left the city days ago, with authorities maintaining no link to the crime.
Paris dispatch reports President Milliersud will not commute Henri Landru's sentence. Landru, dubbed the Blue Beard of Cambing, faces execution this week for the murder of ten women.

George Lang, 40, a clerk with the Bureau of Internal Affairs in the War Department, was arrested by Department of Justice agents in Washington. He is questioned over threatening letters sent to prominent residents demanding large sums of money. Lang denied writing the letters.

Mira Marecine Matthews, 17, shot and killed J. Crosslin in a district court in Waco, Texas, after he was charged with criminally attacking her two years earlier. Crosslin had been tried and convicted, then reversed on appeal. during the retrial she fired twice, stepping to the chair near Crosslin as he sat beside his attorney. She was restrained and detained by officers.
Major E A Goldman of the Biological Survey Washington with guide Howard Eaton and Bruce Nowlin Assistant Game Warden arrived in Lander and left with Supervisor Cook for Dubois and the basin country. They will study winter elk range conditions on state and federal policy, visit big game winter range grounds, and may snowshoe over Two-Two-Te Pass into Jackson Hole.
Yesterday afternoon the funeral of Nelson Yarnell, longtime resident and pioneer of the Lander valley, was held at the Masonic Lodge Rooms under Wyoming Lodge No. 2. Interment followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery with rites by the Blue Lodge.
John Manion of the State Highway Department returned home Wednesday after attending to state business. He says the Wind River bridge project will be completed next week and plans to improve Premont County roads in the vicinity will follow.
