The municipal court report shows drunkenness rose in 1921 with 31,800 arraignments for intoxication versus 32,405 in 1920. The City Council vote of 56 to 6 declared prohibition failed and urged Congress and state legislators to authorize manufacture and sale of wholesome beer and light wines.

In Powell Wyoming on December 29 Dr A S Baldwin awoke to his Mantau homestead ablaze. He fled through deep snow with his feet bound in blanket strips and an overcoat as cover, walking about a quarter mile to neighbors for help. He woke in cold clothing and was only partially dressed.

A 40 inch scale model of the United States Frigate Constitution has joined the Old State House collection in Charlestown. Built by Lt Col William F. Spicer of the Marine Corps over eight years, the model sails in detail and proportion with 675 tackle blocks and 2822 ratline hitches. The hull uses Mexican mahogany. 44 wooden guns and upper works in lighter wood and silk are all to scale.
In Honolulu, December 20, Consul General Chonosuke Yada warned that miscounts by Japanese workers in Hawaii could harm U S Japan relations. He addressed the Hawaii Laborers' organization, linking the sugar plantation strike a year past to current efforts to boost sugar output and urging laborers to unite for greater production.
