In Beardstown Illinois at dawn a fatal shooting occurred when Sheriff Lashbrook and three deputies confronted Greek men aboard a Frederick bound train. A volley wounded the officers as locals flooded the streets, and 28 Greeks were later seized after fleeing across floodwater.
The Girl's Reserve will conduct services at the Congregational Church Sunday at 7 p.m. A well arranged program invites public support and prompt attendance to finish in time for the man meeting headlined by Mr. Nugent the Sunday School speaker at 8 p.m.
Notice from Lander Wyoming dated April 7 1922 states LAN DER YELLOWSTONE TRANSPORTATION COMPANY has been duly incorporated with Fremont County Wyoming. Objects include passenger service between Lander and Yellowstone National Park and other Wyoming points, freight and passenger auto service, hotels and camps for travelers, pleasure trips, and coordination with railroads on the Rocky Mountain Highway from Lander to Yellowstone South Gateway. John Wyman a 36 year old rich farmer was grilled overnight over the death of Gertrude Hanna whose body was found in the Presbyterian church parsonage basement. Wyman admits he is the father of her forthcoming child but denies murder. Grand jury to hear case May 16, county officials said.
The Children’s Crusade delegation, comprising wives and children of men in federal prisons for violations of war laws, arrived in Washington but were not received by President Hapling, per White House notification.
The body of Rev. W. J. Leach the Averyville Presbyterian pastor was found by a fisherman along the Tazewell county shore of the Illinois river. The body was wedged between willows and he had disappeared from his home two weeks earlier.
Cheyenne reports Alfred Walker, convicted of first degree murder for Louis Pallet’s slaying, was sentenced to death by gallows. Judge Tidball issued the death sentence while noting Walker’s companion Leroy Moss received life imprisonment on a nearly identical charge.

Edward Tweed Gr. died Friday morning in Bouta Row California following a brief illness due to pneumonia. Albert Tweed, his son, who left here Wednesday morning, could not reach him in time. Edward Gr. came to Wyoming from England over fifty years ago and had lived in this county two years.
The Union Sunday School Rally schedule outlines speakers and activities for Sunday at the armory led by J. Nugent former Kentucky state Sunday School secretary. Congregational, Baptist, Methodist, and Episcopal participants will perform songs, scripture readings, and sermons culminating in an address on the present day challenge to Sunday schools.
In Brooklyn, April 2, the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Fremont M. Jackson were found in their apartment bathroom. The medical examiner cited possible poisoning by plums, with police considering either suicide pact or murder. Evidence included a supposed poison delivery and a note about quick paralysis leading to death.

Burlington New Jersey April 20 Harry Molt a local circus owner was charged with the killing of Brunen the circus owner shot and killed March 10 in his Riverside New Jersey home authorities said today confirming the arrest and outlining the case details

In Uniontown Pennsylvania April 29 four state policemen and about six strike sympathizers were injured in a riot at Hillman Coal and Coke Tower Hill No 1 mine ten miles from Uniontown. About five hundred men and women gathered at daybreak to block entry of workers and shatter work attendance. Troopers faced stones as they tried to disperse the crowd and additional troops were dispatched to restore order. Names of agencies and precise arrest counts vary in the damaged report.

Associated Press reports in Denver that the fowl Wilt and the Moffat tunnel bill were signed by officers of the Senate and sent to the governor as both houses of the special session adjourned. In Buanghat on April 2 Sun Yat Sen’s forces seized the southern naval squadron aided by air craft in coordination with southern Chinese troops.
