Butz Sees 1972 Rural Development Act Boost
Secretary Earl L. Butz says the Rural Development Act of 1972 can remake rural America and expand opportunity for urban areas. It authorizes government guarantees for rural loans, shifts to private lenders, funds youth loans, boosts farm operating loan limits, improves Farmers Home Administration, supports watershed and fire protection programs, soil and water inventories, and increases pollution abatement and water/sewer grants.
