Environmentalists Say Farmers No Problem
Farmers were told that normal farming operations would not be affected by Pennsylvania DER actions. John Durr, a sanitary engineer, said the focus is on municipal and industrial waste, not farm pollution. The 1970 clean streams act allows action to preserve waters and places responsibility on landowners for clean water. Regulations cover ponds above 250000 gallons and liquid manure handling.
