Agricultural Stabilization Office Moves to New Lancaster Site
As of November 27 the county Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office relocates to 1466 Manheim Pike with office hours 8:30 am to 4:45 pm. Dorothy Y. Neal says the new location will aid farmers and books for the 1964 program will be available in December. The 1964 Feed grain program keeps most 1963 rules with changes on diversion rates and payment levels.

Drought Affects Crop Yields Across Pennsylvania and Nation
October drought slowed grass and fall sown grain growth in Pennsylvania. Water shortages dried streams and wells, pasture damage loomed, tobacco curing was poor, and potato harvest improved with small tubers but good quality. Overall the national crop index stayed at 110 despite moisture gaps.
