Garden Spot High School hosts a three week exchange program between FFA and FHA. Junior vocational agriculture boys studied home economics, planning and serving a complete meal under Mrs. Betty Smoker and served the banquet. Girls learned meat identification and primal cuts under Robert Herr.
Ben Morgan, livestock specialist at Pennsylvania State University, spoke to the New Holland 4-H Beef club on the beef industry and cattle feeding and care at the Fred Nolt farm. The next meeting is set for June 21 at Ruth Ann and Larry High’s Bareville home with David Lapp presenting slides on his New Zealand trip.
