Slaughter steers 1.00 to 1.50 higher, heifers 50 cents to 1.00 higher while cows slip 1.50 to 2.00 in dull trade. Bulls firm. Four day receipts 16,500. Slaughter steers mostly high to prime, heifers largely good to choice, cows mostly utility to low commercial. Average cost for slaughter steers this week 49.16 per cwt.
Delmarva trading on May 21 shows ready to cook movement fair in most areas with Memorial Day demand. Slaughter schedules heavy. US Grade A prices steady to up a cent. negotiated 2-3 lb broilers for next week range 42 to 44 percent, with Aug futures around 43.37 for US Grade A. Also included are dairy and cattle data from Belleville PA with weekly feeder cattle, slaughter cow and bull prices, and Hog and pig prices across multiple weights.
Nest Run Eggs prices from ECI in Durham New Hampshire reflect GNR trading for producers packers and marketers. Prices are by weight in dozen cases and traded in batches of 300 or 750 cases. FOB buyers dock. Calculations occur Tuesday and Thursday each week. This week shows standard classifications.
Egg price trend remains unsettled in Philadelphia with carton demand light and offerings ample. Retailers see deliveries to volume buyers with consumer grade white eggs in cartons holding steady to lower. store door prices listed for Extra Large to Medium sizes in specific ranges.
Live poultry report notes prices steady for light type hens with light offerings and fair call. Heavy type hens offerings increased and fully adequate for moderate interest, paid at farm: light type hens 3-5% mostly 5 in PA and 44-45 in NJ, heavy type hens TFEWR.
Prices mostly two cents lower as demand disappoints while supplies stay ample across sizes. Cartoned eggs priced to retailers with State Graded one case minimum, White Grade A Large mostly 56 to 59 cents and Grade A Medium 47 to 49 cents.
