Market data for cattle calves hogs and sheep across multiple auctions. Detailed price ranges for slaughter steers heifers cows bulls vealers and lambs, with week over week comparisons and notes on supply and quality categories. At Lebanon Valley Auction on Thursday May 18 the market showed steers 1 higher for slaughter grades with cows and bulls mainly steady to up. Prices ranged for steers from 31 to 37.75 per hundredweight, heifers 29.85 to 34.00, cows 21.50 to 31.10, and bulls 30 to 37.50 with calves and sheep also listed, plus hay and corn loads sold per ton.
Prices paid by dealers at the farm for No 2 and better hay in Pennsylvania show alfalfa 40 to 50 per ton, timothy 25 to 35, mixed hay 30 to 40, straw 25 to 30 with March 15 to 20. Green Dragon recorded 29 hay loads including alfalfa 40 to 46 and a 66 load, timothy 34 to 45, mixed 31 to 49, some loads at 56 and 62, and 24 straw loads at 30 to 35 with one corn load at 42.
Local springers quoted 335 to 535. Beef cows steady with higher prices. Feeder cattle show stronger values. Utility and high dressing cutters 2700 to 2900, cutters 2500 to 2700, low dressing 2300 to 2500. Stocker market lists beef type bulls 2800 to 3200, feeder type bulls 2700 to 3100, Holstein steers 2800 to 3000, some fat steers up to 3400, dairy heifers 2800 to 3200.
Reported receipts total 71 cows 22 heifers 3 bulls with a slow market and prices about 25 dollars lower. Loads seen for New York State 360 to 520 and Pennsylvania 300 to 575. Local cows range 300 to 590 with open heifers 147 to 270 and bred heifers 270 to 442.50 Bulls sell 165 to 325.
