Entries Due for Eastern Regional Junior Angus Heifer Show

Breeders have until June 1 to enter the 1973 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Heifer Show set for July 16 and 17 in Harrisonburg Virginia. Officials note judging contest starts July 16 at 7 30 am at Rockingham County Fairgrounds with prizes up to 100 for top FFA and 4 H teams and 80 for class wins plus premium additions for AHLR enrolled and bred by exhibitor. Virginia Angus Association adds 500 to grand champion plus 250 if shown by a Virginia exhibitor. reserve grand champ gets 250.

Strasburg Bank marks 110th birthday with charter reveal

The First National Bank of Strasburg celebrated 110 years Friday with cake and its 1863 charter from the bank vault. Executives William M. Musser Jr and Donald H. Hoffecker joined Albert Witmer as guests. the bank, charter 42, began in 1863 with $100,000 capital and 72 stockholders, now nearing $50 million in assets with 403 stockholders and three branches.
