Fred Frey blends farming with a growing line of Fred-built steel gates tailored to exact specs. He tests a mechanized shepherd gate driven by a tire and motor, ready for market as part of his custom equipment venture. Frey farms 500 acres, breeds Angus cattle, raises corn and alfalfa, and runs 800 head of cattle on pasture alongside a thriving gate business. His show record includes champion steer at the Western States Exhibition and other top placings in Denver and Chicago. He also markets the Slam-o-Matic latch in double or single models.
