New Soybean Variety Wells Resists Lodging Across Regions
Wells is a high yielding early maturing soybean variety developed by Purdue and USDA ARS with lodging resistance. It matures earlier than Amsey 71 and Beeson, adapts from 40 to 44 latitude, and shows resistance to phytophthora root rot and frogeye leafspot with some disease susceptibilities. Breeders’ seed will be kept by Purdue. USDA has no seed for distribution.
