Registered Holstein cows set lactation records and notes on spring
Titus B. Stoner and Allen Lee Stoltzfus own high producing cows Norma and Sherry with 305 day lactations of 20 791 and 18 747 pounds milk respectively and butterfat tests of 4 2 and 4 7 percent. An editorial on spring milk production, pasture benefits, and feeding notes urges proper winter nutrition and warns about streptomycin residues in dairy cattle. It cites FDA zero tolerance guidance and slaughter withholding periods for treated cows.
