Urban growth only modestly impacts U.S. cropland
An ERS study of 53 counties shows urban use rose to 16 percent of land in 1970 from 13 percent in 1960 while cropland share declined from 33 to 30 percent. For every population rise, about a sixth of an acre rural land urbanized, but only a third of that was cropland.

Action where it counts in lure selection
Mercury outboards fishing experts discuss four basic plug types and their best actions. Surface disturbers require speed variation for max water churn while nodders fish slowly with pauses. Darters tilt and wobble, floats with side to side action. Floating diving plugs dive deeper with more lateral movement. Long casts and lip bending adjust depth and action.
