Nutsedge Control Shown In Soil Fumigation Study
University of Maryland researchers report fall soil fumigation at proper rates and temperatures can suppress yellow nutsedge in the next growing season. Dr Edward Beste presented findings at the Weed Science Society of America meeting, continuing work started by the late C Owain Altman on the Eastern Shore.

Fertilizing Forage Crops Reduces Weed Problems
Research shows applying fertilizers increases forage density and reduces annual weed infestations while established perennials resist change. Herbicides plus fertilizers improve weed control. fall fumigation with Vortex Telone C or DD PIC works best at higher soil temperatures, with effectiveness dropping as soil temp falls.
