CATTLE and HOGS data show varied changes from last week across steers cows and bulls with calves and sheep. New rounds record price ranges for slaughter and feeder categories with demand described as moderately active and prices mixed by weight and grade. There is additional detail on horses cattle and hogs sold at June sales and notes on dairy cattle and riding horses.
Cattle receipts total 24 900 for the first four days, down from 26 700 the prior week and 31 800 a year ago. Slaughter steers steady to 25 lower on heavy weights above 1150 pounds, while heifers hold steady. Cows rise up to 25, bulls and feeders mostly steady. Continued on Page 14.
