Egg And Turkey Prices Rise After July Says Experts

U S farm prices for eggs and turkeys are expected to increase in coming months with broiler prices dipping slightly. The Poultry Survey Committee forecasts year beginning July 1 egg prices about two cents per dozen higher than last year and a spring 1966 return to similar levels. Turkey prices for September December 1965 may average 2.25 cents per pound, up from 2.15 cents last year, with a crop 1 to 2 percent larger than 1964.

Miss Risser Wins Best in Show at Lane 4 H Strawberry Exhibit

Sandra Risser a 19 year old Lititz area 4 H participant captured Best in Show in the county strawberry exhibit beating ten entries. Judge Dr Carl Bittner Penn State extended horticulturist selected the 4 basket entry for size color and appearance. The Dan ish system placed entries. Risser notes this is her second year with these plants and that Rotary Club sponsors bought the winning entry for 1 per quart box.

Musser to Substitute on Conservation Tour in New York

Gary Musser of New Holland will replace Robert Fisher of East Earl on a two day conservation bus tour across south central New York state on June 16 and 17. Fisher could not attend, and Musser, the 14 year old son of Titus and (illegible) Musser, is a Garden Spot High School freshman.

Lancaster County farmers received 35520 dollars for 18654 mop losses on type 41 tobacco with total indemnities likely not exceeding 38000 dollars. Some settlements are delayed due to late deliveries by farmers, noted by a USDA Federal Crop Insurance spokesman.
