The Broken Bit 4-H Horse and Pony Club met at Karin Risser’s home in Stevens for grooming and showing demonstration. New members Russel Updike, Richard Updike, and Glenn Shenk joined. Open Horse Show set for June 17 at Lancaster Riding Club with 18 classes and events.
Lancaster County ASCS urges 1972 wheat and feed grain set aside participants to designate set aside acreage by June 15 1972. Farmers must certify acreage of wheat corn grain sorghum and barley with changes allowing estimates for unplanted crops. Membership in the Lancaster County Poultry Association reached 242 this month, up 72 from last year, the highest in six or seven years. The board met at the Farm and Home Center to discuss the annual banquet, the Poultry Queen contest, and promoting eggs to consumers amid concerns about price erosion and production limits.
