Ordinary cows lead in DHIA as immune to pampering

Mount Hope View Farm owner Stanley G Greiner says his herd of ordinary cows produced the highest butterfat in the Red Rose DHIA for April and ranked 10th in Lancaster County for the 1963 testing year. He credits silage, year round feed, and giving young cows a chance, noting several Lucifer Star sired cows improved with age. The herd includes SPARC Ivanhoe daughters like Liza, who yielded 694 lb butterfat from 17 460 lb milk in 305 days and remains strong in second lactation, plus Wimpy with 761 lb butterfat and 19 282 lb milk in 305 days.
